Here is the second half of our old Snow Queen, as promised. Enjoy!

At least, for those of you in Littles, Children's, and Youth.
Sorry for the lateness of this post, but at least I got it in on the Thursday! I'll post the rest of Snow Queen tomorrow. This was a thing that happened. It was pretty fun. Almost as fun as our Youth choir party, which was another thing that happened that I forgot to mention on the blog until now.
So, CM got us all together--not just the Youth helpers, mind you!--and started by putting us all to work making binders for Littles and Childrens. Then, we all talked about plans for next year, and went over each show. Then we went and watched old concert videos for the rest of the night. On an entirely unrelated note, for those of you reading with singers who love Build-a-Bear, you should come by the store in WEM sometime. You might see a familiar face working there... (hint hint) KM I realize now that I should've started this earlier, so as to fit in all the Snow Queen videos, because there will only be 2 Thursdays until choir starts (yay!), but oh well, I'll just post two of them each week. Problem solved! So, without further ado, here are the first two parts of the Youth choir Snow Queen story from years past. Personally, I think we should put more of our stuff on Youtube. I vote we put up our Alice in Wonderland slideshow next! CM and I went to a production meeting for SAYMA today, so I think it's a good time to restart the blog by posting my report from said meeting.
We discussed props, set, and costuming for each choir, and we now have a solid plan for pretty much everything. The stories for each choir are: Minis--A Teddy Bear Christmas. This was my very first concert when I joined the Littles! It's about a family of bears who learn the true meaning of Christmas and discover that the best gift of all is being able to spend time together. We've done it twice before, both many years ago. I was the grandmother bear the first time, and the father bear the second. Littles--Holiday Zoobilee. Another one we've done before, though I think all the Littles from way back then have now left the choirs completely, so it'll seem new. This one is about a zookeeper who's lost his Christmas spirit, and the animals that help him find it again. Childrens--North Pole Exposure. Some of our Youth singers should remember doing this one when they were in Children's Choir! You know who you are. This is the story of a group of kids who take a trip to the North Pole to discover its secrets. Youth--Cinderella and the Snow Queen. No-one will remember doing this show, because it's all new, written specifically for us by a very talented, wise, kind, and especially modest young blogger/singer/helper (I'm talking about me). In this story, the Snow Queen throws a Christmas ball for her son, who hates Christmas, and Cinderella attends with the help of Santa and his elves, and teaches both the prince and the queen a lesson about what Christmas is really about. The Minis, Littles, and Children will also be performing songs in between the stories together. Are you excited for the term yet? Because you should be. I might start counting down the Thursdays until the first rehearsal with some old Snow Queen videos (which, by the way, will give you an idea of what the Snow Queen's costume will be for our next concert)!! AuthorHi, I'm KM. I work with all the SAYMA choirs as the lead helper. I sang in the choirs for 12 years, and I just couldn't bring myself to leave, so I didn't! Oh, and I write this blog, but I'm guessing you figured that out already. Archives
