The Littles were rather rambunctious today, but were still able to do a lot of work on their songs. They enjoyed their puppet show--as always--and enjoyed playing with the puppets afterwards just as much if not more. They were all split into "copycats" and "cool kids", and some kids were given small speaking parts. They also met a new Youth helper, CP.
The Children's Choir got their parts last night as well, and I am proud to say that CM and I managed to make all of them the role they requested. After receiving scripts, they worked on staging for the opening number, then learned and staged "The Kite". CP and TA are joining TM, CK, and myself as Youth helpers for the Children this term.
The Youth choir also got their parts, and after being handed revised scripts we promptly began working on "Born This Way", "Beautiful", "Breakaway", "You Can't Stop the Beat", and "Reflection". And yes, CM is definitely going to give out solos for a few of these songs. According to our adult helper CP, some of the songs on the Sop 1 CDs have the wrong part on them, so first sopranos should go to sayma.ca to listen to their real parts.
I almost forgot to mention: the Children's Choir has some homework other than just listening to their CDs--to go through their scripts and highlight their parts before next rehearsal.
Until next week!
