For those of you that were unfortunately absent last night but plan on joining us, here's a quick rundown of what we did. First, I'll start with what our theme for our spring show is this year: Africa. We'll be singing a bunch of traditional African folksongs and hopefully we'll tell the audience a few folktales, as well as performing a few songs from The Lion King.
The Minis start in February, so they can bring their friends for their first rehearsal.
The Littles and their friends started with some games, then learned "I Just Can't Wait to be King". After that, they had a puppet show to learn some of "Siyahamba", and they also decorated tambourines made out of paper plates. A big thanks to our helpers that prepared these crafts for the kids, especially TM, DS, VC, and of course CM (and me).
The Children's Choir learned the first half of "Hakuna Matata" as well as the same part of "Siyahamba". They also decorated some tambourines, and some of them had some fun with face paints!
The Youth choir started with "Circle of Life", as well as "Siyahamba", "Watu Wote", and "We Are One". They also got to have some fun with crafts (tambourines, friendship bracelets) and face paints.
Many thanks to CK, who made us all some very delicious cookies!
