The Minis start rehearsals in February. Spoiler alert: they're doing a story about sharing.
Anywho, the Littles, though they were missing a significant amount of kids, still enjoyed their first rehearsal of the term. They're doing a story about copycats and cool kids, and they get to sing fun stuff like "Mamma Mia", "Anything You Can Do", and "I Wanna Be Like You". They started learning a few songs, and got a puppet show introducing the theme of their story and the song "Anything You Can Do".
The Children's Choir was also missing a few singers, but they were as energetic as ever. They're doing an abridged version of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", which I did in my second year of Children's Choir as Schroeder. Ah, the memories... Oh, right, rehearsal log. Yes. The Children started to learn and stage the opening number, and signed up for parts as well as learning some of the all-together songs.
The Youth choir is doing a story on bullying, as well as some kind-of-improvised scenes (with pre-planned scenarios, so it's not quite improvised) on the topic. We read through the story and attempted to sight-read the songs in-between. Our numbers are down significantly, and we need more people to be able to really sound great. So make sure, Youth choir, that you hand out invitations to friends not in choir! Invite as many people as you can, and emphasize that they have two trial rehearsals before they have to decide whether or not to join.
