Huge props to KS, KL, MH, and DS especially for going the extra mile in rehearsal tonight (and in some cases actually directing the rehearsal or at least leading the choirs in a song or two).
The Minis rehearsed on the risers tonight for the first time this term! They learned more of "Wakati Wa Amani", and practised "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "Jambo Rafiki", "Kye Kye Kule", and "I Just Can't Wait To Be King". They also had a puppet show (the same one the Littles had last time) and played "London Bridge".
The Littles practised "Wakati Wa Amani", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "The Circle of Life", and "Rhythm of the Rain". They also had Mama Mary tell them the story of "why the warthog goes about on his knees", and rehearsed their own African folktale.
The Children's Choir had some fun with tongue twisters in their warmup--I have to say, they were pretty good at them! Almost as good as our resident tongue twister queen CM, in my opinion. They too practised "Rhythm of the Rain", "Wakati Wa Amani", "Circle of Life" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Also on the menu tonight were "Tue Tue" and "Firefly", as well as their readers theatre piece.
The Youth choir started off the night with the gumboot dance and "Circle of Life" before splitting off into their groups for readers theatre. They also reviewed "Mambo Jesu", "Watu Wote", "We Are One", "Wakati Wa Amani", and "N'kosi Sikelel'iAfrika". Then, they went over the gumboot dance one last time.
Since we don't have rehearsal again until after it's over, I'll say it now--happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!
