Our last regular rehearsal of the season followed our regular rehearsal format, with one exception--we had our band playing along with our pieces! We didn't do a lot of full pieces, since we wanted to get through them all and make sure the band got a taste of all the songs while still having enough time to work on reader's theatre.
After that rehearsal, a bunch of us zipped over to the church where we're be performing to start prepping it for the dress rehearsal and concert. The prep work continued today (or should I say yesterday?) and now everything is up and ready onstage.
The dress rehearsal started with all the choirs going over the first half of the show, which features the Minis and Littles more, and the last few numbers. Then we said goodbye to the Minis and Littles, leaving the Children and Youth to go over the second act, which they are more featured in. After that, the Childrens Choir left, and the Youth practised their alone pieces and the gumboot dance.
The concert is fast approaching! Remember that your footwear for this show is predominantly sandals, so make sure your feet are clean and all that, especially since the Youth will definitely be going barefoot in the second half of the show (up until the gumboot dance, anyway).
