The Minis played the Hokey Pokey, sang through "Kye Kye Kule" and "I Just Can't Wait To Be King", learned more of "Jambo Rafiki", and started on "Wakati Wa Amani". They also played The Old Grey Cat and London Bridge, and had a puppet show about not being scared to perform for an audience.
The Littles learned more of "Wakati Wa Amani", started learning "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", and practised "Circle of Life" with their animal masks. They also started on their reader's theatre piece, which is the African folktale called "One Good Meal Deserves Another", and had a puppet show to sing "I Paradisi" and to introduce one of several new puppets--Harriet the Hippo, currently played by helper girl CK.
The Children's Choir worked on "Wakati Wa Amani", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", and "Circle of Life" as well. Their reader's theatre piece is called "Clever Jackal Gets Away". They also sang through "Tue Tue", and "Takadamu".
The Youth choir was assigned parts for their reader's theatre pieces, and they also sang through "Wakati Wa Amani", "Nkosi Sikelel'iAfrika", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "We Are One", and "I Paradisi". They learned the rest of the gumboot dance as well.
Later I will be posting a video of the entire gumboot dance from our rehearsal for the Youth choir to use as a practice tool.
