The Minis trickled in throughout their rehearsal, which was to be expected since everyone was taking their time on the road. They were a bit crazier than usual, probably due at least in part to all the excitement of Halloween. They really enjoyed their puppet show... CM thinks they sing more to the puppets sometimes than they do to her! Perhaps she should bring the Nutcracker puppet to the concert?
The Littles mixed it up this time, without their pictures they sat wherever they wanted on the risers. CM read them the entire story, and they sang their songs in between. They've really learned their stuff! Next rehearsal, they come at 5:45.
The Childrens Choir sat in a circle, and as with the Littles, CM read them the entire story with their songs interspersed. And the dancers also practised when their songs came up! I am so impressed by all the dancers (but of course I'm especially proud of my own groups!). I have yet to see the Sugar Plum Fairy dance, but I know KL was working intensively on it last night, so I'm sure it'll be great. Right at the end, they learned some sign language for "A Star Dances", taught by the lovely SW, the mom of two of our Mini Singers. Next rehearsal, they come at 6:15.
The Youth first learned the sign language for "A Star Dances", then did an Italian run of the show. In other words, we did the entire thing at super speed (yes, even some of the songs!). It was oddly fun, and it really forced us to think quickly and to better memorize our lines and music. Next rehearsal, we come at 6:15 as well to rehearse with all the younger choirs and get to know our Mini and Little buddies better.
Until next time!
