As you all know, the start of our second term is fast approaching, and that means CM and I are crazy busy planning our spring concert!
Actually, the craziness has somewhat subsided... We've chosen all the songs and written all the scripts. All that's left to do now is edit and record the rehearsal CDs! ...And choose a name for the show. So yes, we have all of our repertoire chosen. Diligent readers of the blog will know that our theme this term is "twisted fairy tales". CM has decided to give each choir their own tale to tell, which means four twisted fairy tales in one concert! The Minis and Littles will be using their youth helpers to narrate and mime their stories, while the Children and Youth will be given acting scenes. The stories get a little more twisted around as we move up the ranks, and the Youth's tale is certainly a far departure from the days of the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. CM and I have already been thinking about casting, but we are going to hold off on major decisions until rehearsals start, since we may have new singers joining us. I for one cannot wait for the second term to start. I've missed choir terribly, and working on the details of this concert only makes me miss it more. But thankfully I won't have to wait much longer!

AuthorHi, I'm KM. I work with all the SAYMA choirs as the lead helper. I sang in the choirs for 12 years, and I just couldn't bring myself to leave, so I didn't! Oh, and I write this blog, but I'm guessing you figured that out already. Archives
